FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drives for the screw type centrifuges. Drive for the screw type centrifuge including the rotating drum and coaxially installed screw; it contains the drum drive motor and screw motor. The screw motor is connected with the screw shaft by means of the gearbox. The gearbox without possibility of rotation is connected with the drum drive shaft. The gearbox for the screw drive is installed with possibility of rotation in the fixed casing, and has hollow output shaft, that via the coupling is connected with the hollow drum drive shaft.
EFFECT: increased gearbox reliability due to the gearbox installation on the foundation, thus decreasing danger of its destruction.
