SUBSTANCE: high reliability lock and a key (7) for lock actuation, comprising a plate, a rod (10) and a bit (12) of the key, where the coding of the key (7) is located in the form of ledges (13, 14, 18). The key bit (12) comprises ledges (13, 14, 18) at both sides, besides, diameter of the key bit (12) relative to the maximum protruding ledges (13, 14) makes from 9.5 mm to 11 mm. A lock (1) for such key (7) with several lever tumblers (24) placed in a box (2), including a rotary sprocket (3) driven by this key (7). This sprocket (3) is made in the form of a multifunctional structural element for readjustment of lever tumblers (24) and/or control of lock function.
