FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: vacuum circuit breaker comprises at least one module with solenoid drive and magnetic latch in the lock area having armature, vacuum chamber, traction insulator, synchronising shaft, auxiliary contacts, manual emergency switch and shutdown counter. Armature is equipped with permanent magnets oriented with the same poles to the lock area with a gap of variable value to regulate pulling. Permanent magnets are placed symmetrically towards inside from the lock area thus forming magnetic trap.

EFFECT: excluding false response and improving reliability of emergency shutdown at large values of the force holding the magnetic latch.
