FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the design of collapsible caps of launch tubes and protective devices for process vessels operated under pressure. The cap is made as a spherical segment divided into fractions with a backup ring. There is a hole in the spherical hole vertex that is closed by a bush. The spherical segment has a zone in which division planes of adjacent fractions are located in meridional planes. The bush and the said fractions are arranged to make an annular slit gap set concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the spherical segment and the slit gaps set meridionally. The slit gaps in the upper part, on the convex side of the spherical segment are filled by rigid elements with wedged tapering with designed radius. The second part of the gaps located on the concave side of the segment is filled by potting composition with its durability being less that the cap material durability. Wedged tapering of rigid elements is carried out with the design radius forming a groove in the potting composition material - a stress concentrator, and the surface of the rigid element's wedged tapering and one of its side surfaces are covered with antiadhesive coating.
EFFECT: specified destruction of a cap is achieved between the maximal testing and minimal destructing operation pressures.
