FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: pyrotechnic illuminating charge contains the following, wt %: sodium nitrate 44-50, magnesium powder 37-40 and a binding agent comprising a mixture of gypsum or cryolite 9-10 with pine rosin 3-4 and a process additive - industrial oil 1-2.
EFFECT: invention allows preparing a pyrotechnic composition suitable for forming with minimum pressing forces of munition of artillery ammunitions, which is characterised by increased structural strength and withholds a shooting pulse load.
