FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnics, particularly to pyrotechnic compositions based on metal nitrates, which are meant to produce coloured smoke when at least two solid substances react. The pyrotechnic composition for red signalling light contains the following, wt %: strontium nitrate - 69-72, polyvinyl chloride suspension - 14-17, powdered metal fuel and organic combustible binder. The metal fuel is powdered aluminium-magnesium alloy in amount of 8-12 wt % and the organic combustible binder is colophony in amount of 2-3 wt % and additionally industrial oil in amount of 1-2 wt %.
EFFECT: engineering solution ensures prolonged existence of a monochromic red smoke signal during combustion of a pyrotechnic composition which is easy to prepare and process.
