FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: smoke-forming metal chloride composition contains, in wt %: hexachloroethane 58-70, zinc oxide 24-29, aluminium powder 4-9 and a process additive - fluororubber 2-4. The aluminium powder has particle size of not more than 60 mcm.
EFFECT: ratio of said components and limited dispersion of the aluminium powder raise combustion temperature without changing the rate of combustion of the composition, obtaining contrast white smoke and higher screening capacity of the generated smoke screen, which provides maximum scattering of optical radiation at wavelength 0,40-1,56 mcm, which corresponds to the radiation range of enemy detection and homing equipment.
