SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to OLED devices (devices based on organic light-emitting diodes) in general and in particular to exciters for the above devices. Technical result lies in improved reliability and service life of OLED diodes. The result is attained by the fact that OLED excitation method (20) includes stages of OLED switching on/off as well as the stage of OLED excitation prevention within the range from zero up to the preset voltage level (Vx) above zero, at that the preset voltage level (Vx) may be at the level of characteristical threshold voltage (V2), and OLED should be considered switched off when this level is exceeded.
EFFECT: damage of OLED is prevented or decreased.
