FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: forcibly locking differential includes body (1), cylindrical locking ring (2), axles (3) with two main satellites (4), as well as interacting with them two differential side gears (5, 6) differential axles (7). The body also contains two locking satellites (8) on common axle (9) which is made cranked and consisting of two parallel differential axles, herewith, the diameter of locking satellites (8) is less than diameter of main satellites (4). The differential is able to function in two modes - "free rotation" and "locked". The differential is provided with two-position detent. Facility to change mode from "free rotation" to "locked" is made as external brake for locking ring, which brake is actuated on control command from driver. The external brake can be electromagnetic drum brake (16) fixed on static body of reducing gear.
EFFECT: higher reliability of device operation.
