FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to valve and fittings industry and intended for automatic closure of downstream gas pipelines when maximum gas flow exceeds even insignificant values of pressure drop. The gas flow control device includes gas-tight housing (1). Inside the housing (1) there is a valve saddle (4) for a plug (10), which is directed at the supporting section and moved in axial direction. The plug (10) is retained by elastic force in an open position against the flow direction. A gap in a pilot hole (8) used as the supporting section has a bigger size in open position than in closed one and it reduces constantly when closure movement along bevel (16) is started. The bevel (16) for gap reduction in the pilot hole (8) at closure commencement is made so that the same force is required to lift the plug (10) upwards both at horizontal and vertical mounting of the gas flow control device in order to control gas flow when the flow is directed upwards.
EFFECT: invention is oriented towards increased accuracy of the device actuation due to the fact that consumption at actuation has the same value in different mounting positions, at that design and manufacturing of the device are extremely simple.
