FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used to prevent wear of surfaces of friction pairs, for example, plain bearings of shaft-liner type or shaft-bushing type, or guides on which the lathe machine poppet moves. Prior to final assembly of a friction pair unit, wear-resistance material in the form of a tape or film with required tribological properties is placed between the pair's surfaces in the place of the mutual contact so that to form a common wear-resistant intermediate layer, the tape or the film by one end is fixed in a block or a coil with worn out material and the second end is rigidly fixed in the second block or coil for stepwise receiving of the worn out part of the said material.
EFFECT: invention allows for repair or replacement of worn out friction pairs without process operations like complete disassembly, washing, drying, built-up welding, spattering, introduction of adhesive or lubricating material in the friction zone.
