FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cryogenic engineering. A measurement method of level of liquid helium with a discrete level meter with a point resistive temperature sensor of TVO type and a controller for control of a measurement process differs by the fact that the sensor is installed on different levels and a spread of readings of sensor resistance values is determined: a stable and low spread of the specified values characterises location of the sensor in liquid helium medium; a worse spread of the specified values characterises location of the sensor in gaseous medium; maximum spread of the specified values corresponds to position of the sensor at liquid helium surface, and as per analysis result of the spread of resistance readings, liquid helium level is determined.
EFFECT: task solved by means of the invention consists in determination of a method for measurement of liquid helium level with a point sensor, which requires no pre-calibration.
