FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed group of inventions relates to measurement equipment and can be used to measure and indicate the level of liquid, multilayer and multiphase media, for example, water-steam heat carriers, oil, gasoline and other oil-containing products. Liquid level measurement method is performed by a submersible level gauge, providing a group of electrically connected electrodes located at different heights, an electrically insulated electrode or another group of electrically connected electrodes, which together form a capacitor with a continuous pulse-varying signal of electrical capacitance on the electrodes depending on changes in the level of the medium, and discrete determination of the level is carried out by the number of pulses of changes in the electrical capacitance and by its absolute value and by its excess of a plurality of threshold values Cp corresponding to different heights of the location of the electrodes. Also provided is a method in which the level measurement is performed by a submersible level gauge, comprising two electrodes, one of which is made in the form of a vertical plate, longitudinal section of which at different heights has alternating contractions and expansions or is made in the form of horizontal metal rings connected by a vertical metal conductor.

EFFECT: performance of high-precision continuous and discrete (as to tank height) measurements of liquid media level.
