FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine building and can be implemented for the automation of assembly processes, particularly, for the assembly of connecting rod and piston group of an internal combustion engine. The assembly unit comprises work stations and a carryover conveyor installed as per process flow, the conveyor is equipped by associated carriers made as pallets. The work stations are made as the following stations set on the carryover conveyor: station for preassembly of the piston with connecting rod, station for marking of connecting rods and their covers as per cylinder number, station for automatic unscrewing of fastening screws in connecting rod covers and standby station for manual disassembly.
EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of a common unit to assemble parts related to a connecting rod and piston group, which are the basic parts of an internal combustion engine and are most common in car production.
