FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of internal combustion engines (ICE) technical state control and diagnostics. Disclosed is method of determining clearance in crank bearing crankshaft during testing and diagnostics of internal combustion engine of vehicles, transport and transport-process machines, in which the clearance in the crank bearing is measured in the plane passing through the axis of the connecting rod immediately after the engine is stopped by supplying air from the air preparation center 10, via air line 11, through the air pressure reducer 12, pressure gauge 13, pressure stabilizer 20, pressure converter 30, throttles 31–35, controlled at the beginning of testing and diagnostics for pressure and amount of supplied air, measuring device 40, through the air supply head 50, having rotating and non-rotating parts of the head, through a common channel of air supply 230, which end in the oil channel of the crankshaft, through tubes 231 and 232, which terminate on crank pin 220 with outlet holes with nozzles installed in them 1 mm, in cavity between crank journal 220 and connecting rod bearing 221, and on scale of measuring device 40 on pressure drop in system of nozzle-gate determined gap in con rod bearing, wherein shutter function is made by working surface of insert 221, and air discharge from nozzle-gate system is carried out into crankcase.

EFFECT: complete use of engine crankshaft life based on patent method of determining clearance between crank journal of crankshaft and working surface of crank liner when testing and diagnosing technical condition of internal combustion engine, which is ensured by decision on repair of engine crankshaft and replacement of worn inserts on inserts of next repair size.
