FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hand-held air-operated device used for tightening/untightening threaded joints, in particular, to nut runners. This device comprises body with cranks and pneumatic drive. Ratchet gear comprises the set of spring-loaded pawls. Output shaft with ratchet wheel fitted thereon runs in two aligned plain bearings press fitted into case and cover attached thereto. Rack is arranged at piston rod end to transfer developed piston force to cranks by engagement with pawls engaged with ratchet wheel fitted on output shaft by two prismatic keys for ratchet wheel alignment. To reverse compressed air at working cycle, nut runner flange is provided with thrust to reciprocate therein.
