FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data transmission methods, namely to communication interfaces of electronic devices, and can be used for transmission of discrete electric signals. The method of transmission of discrete electric signals from, at least, one transmitter to the receiver connected to the two-wire communication line, connected to a communication line supply voltage source is characterised by that the reading signal as logical zero and unit is determined by a signal level in the communication line with reference to pre-set thresholds, the receiver is fitted with a current sensor, signal is transmitted from each transmitter by change of current in the communication line by the transmitter due to change of its output resistance, and each transmitter is fitted with an internal secondary power supply which is charged from the communication line, before a signal transmission the communication line supply voltage source voltage is decreased, and after the signal transmission the communication line supply voltage is restored.

EFFECT: increase of number of transmitters powered from a communication line, increase of range and reliability of communication.
