FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method includes development of underpressure for breakdown with provision of even distribution of pressure at a sample with elimination of leak and suction of air in process of air leakage via a sample and determination of current index of air permeability at the changing pressure differences provided due to air leak from the sample area from a pneumatic chamber with fixed volume to the other one with lower pressure until pressure balancing between two pneumatic chambers. By means of a timer they measure time of air leak through the sample, with the help of digital manometers they measure current value of pressure in pneumatic chambers, and by means of a computer in real time mode they perform continuous calculation of air permeability index according to the set logic and record information onto an electronic medium.

EFFECT: expansion of technological capabilities and method simplification with simultaneous increase of its sensitivity and information value due to assessment of volume of leaking air with the help of analytic calculations.
