SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the item of medical clothing, particularly to surgical or laboratory coat, with a cape (12) covering the body, as well as the sleeves (32) adjacent to the cape. The cape (12) has a fold (28) for putting on the item of medical clothing (10) and at least one fastener (50) for closing the fold (28). The fastener (50) comprises a first element (51) of the fastener on the first side edge (26) bounding the fold (28) of the cape (12) covering the body, and also a second element (52) of the fastener located on the second side edge (24) bounding the fold (28). The first element (51) of the fastener comprises a fixed part (53) for permanent attachment to the cape (12) covering the body, a protective part (57) inseparably connected to it, and a coupling part (55) connected to the fixed part (53) and non-interacting with the second element (52) of the fastener, closable with the protective part (57), at that the coupling part (55) has a first mechanical coupling means (63), and the second element (52) of the fastener comprises a second mechanical coupling means, and this second mechanical coupling means is formed by a surface (15) of the item of medical clothing (10).

EFFECT: object of the invention is to improve the fastener the item of medical clothing, when it is possible to omit the removable protective part.
