FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on the use of interaction of ice and a hollow tight cylindrical elastic shell with a working medium (1) inside. For implementation of the method the working medium (1) in the shell impacts the pneumatic cylinder rod (2). The rod shifts one of face walls of the metal rectangular resonator (3) which is pre-excited by electromagnetic oscillations. By the resonant frequency of the resonator (3) ice thickness is determined.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of ice thickness measurement.
