SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely, to noise suppression means. Sound energy absorber, an array of porous fibrous or open cellular foam sound-absorbing material lined with a protective sound-transparent shell and an acoustic rejection filter. Rejection filter is formed by a cylindrical tubular housing and a diaphragm with a hole located on one of its ends, as well as a piston installed in the housing and a piston rod located on the side of the piston opposite to the diaphragm. Piston is installed with possibility of its variable spacing relative to the diaphragm. Opposite surfaces of diaphragm and piston, section of internal walls of housing located between them, as well as diaphragm hole are made with possibility of formation of resonator chamber and neck of Helmholtz resonator, respectively.

EFFECT: high efficiency of absorption of low-frequency modes, as well as the possibility of performing frequency adjustment of low-frequency components of the absorber.
