FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: crystalline iodine production method may be used for reactive qualification iodine production. The method allows to use raw materials represented by iodine-containing solutions of natural and technogenic origin with large content of organic admixtures. The invention essence is as follows: reactive qualification iodine is produced in two stages: at the first stage iodine-paste produced of iodine-containing raw materials is sublimated (in an atmospheric air flow in the presence of sulphuric acid, with iodine and hydriodic acid vapours generated), condensed and separated; condensed iodine is washed with water; iodine is isolated from hydriodic acid and wash waters to obtain iodine paste; at the second stage the mixture of washed iodine and iodine paste is sublimated in an atmospheric air flow in the presence of sodium carbonate.

EFFECT: method guarantees the reactive qualification product quality and labour conditions improvement.
