SUBSTANCE: described is a method of hand-washing dishes by directly applying a liquid detergent composition. Described is a method of hand-washing dishes using a liquid detergent composition containing 0.1 to 1.9 wt % of a composition of an ethoxylated branched nonionic surfactant, about 5 to 30 wt % of an ethoxylated anionic surfactant, which is a fatty alcohol derivative having an average degree of ethoxylation of about 1 to about 2, wherein at least 90 wt % of the fatty alcohol is linear, wherein the method includes a step of bringing the liquid detergent composition in its undiluted form into contact with the dishes. Use of the liquid detergent composition is also described.
