FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to X-ray engineering. In the method of controlling an X-ray apparatus, which provides maximum power at any moment in time, the supply voltage or input voltage of the X-ray tube must be half the mains voltage ((Vbat)/2 or (Vline)/2), referred to as reference voltage (Vref); when the reference voltage deviates, the method includes varying the supply current by varying the exposure time so that maximum power is provided at any moment in time.
EFFECT: high quality of X-ray images by providing maximum power during discharge.
