FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: in the proposed tank heat insulation method the following is performed: preparation of a foundation with heat insulation elements of a tank bottom, installation of the tank on the prepared foundation, installation of heat insulation of the wall and the roof of the tank. Supporting unloading flanges forming tiers are installed on the wall and the roof of the tank; the tiers are filled with foamed glass blocks, thus providing for deformation joints; a cover layer of metal plates is mounted on the outer surface of the blocks; with that, the foamed glass blocks of the lower tier are detachable so that there can be provided a possibility of an access to a "wall/bottom" grooved joint, and blocks of the rest tiers are attached to the surface of the tank and connected to each other by means of an adhesive material.

EFFECT: providing the safety and strength of heat insulation of the tank at loads imposed on its structure, which are determined by the raw material filling-in and draining, as well as by climatic factors, at maintenance of temperature conditions of the product being stored; application of the proposed method provides protection of soil against the thermal effect of the product stored in the tank.
