FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: flame failure sensor is intended for continuous monitoring of flame of burners of boiler equipment and furnaces, when burning solid, liquid, gaseous fuel for heating of raw materials and heat carriers. The continuous monitoring is required for operation of burner safety systems of furnace and/or boiler, which shut the fuel supply to the burner at non-occurrence of its flare during pre-set time at ignition or disappearance of burner flare in the modes of furnace lighting, at operation with various loads. The sensor allows: compensate influence of external background light (natural and artificial lighting, heated walls of the furnace, boiler combustion chambers), perform self-balancing with aging of a photodetector and pollution of optical units by burning products (sulphur, soot, condensate), provide simultaneous registration of existence of a burner flare, fault of flame failure sensors, stability of burning in one dedicated measurement channel of the distributed control system (DCS), perform self-diagnostics, without using various simulators, electromechanical blinds, shutters, complex microprocessor correction algorithms.
