FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: housing of liquid channels of an internal combustion engine represents a solid-cast product consisting of thermostatic box (1), volute (8) for location of a centrifugal pump, inlet cavity (4) for supply of cooling liquid to the impeller of the centrifugal pump, channel (3) for supply of cooling liquid directly from thermostatic box (1) to inlet cavity (4) and channel (2) for supply of cooling liquid from thermostatic box (1) through radiator (not shown in the figure) to inlet cavity (4) on the opposite side. In the housing of thermostatic box (1) there are holes (5) and (6) for supply of cooling liquid from an internal combustion engine unit and channel (7) for supply of heated liquid from an oil cooler; besides, there are cooling liquid outlet holes (12), (13). In volute (8) where the impeller of the centrifugal pump is located there are three spiral outlet channels, two of which (10) and (11) are intended for connection to the internal combustion engine unit, and channel (9) is intended for connection to the oil cooler. Channels (2) and (3) that supply the cooling liquid to inlet cavity (4) of the impeller of the centrifugal pump on opposite sides provide a uniform field of velocities before the impeller of the centrifugal pump with minimum losses. Channels (9), (10), (11) are located in one plane and at an equal angle between each other and have equal outlet sections.
EFFECT: uniform distribution of cooling liquid flows in an internal combustion engine unit and an optimum temperature mode in a cooling jacket.
