SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aviation, namely to automatic aircraft control systems. A method for rendering assistance to a pilot of a single-engine rotary-wing aircraft (1) at the flight stage in an autorotation mode involves monitoring of a thermal engine (13) operation during the flight to determine its failure, namely by means of power loss on the specified lifting propeller (2), and then, when the failure of the specified thermal engine (13) is determined, an electrical machine (12) is controlled for the supply of auxiliary power We to the specified lifting propeller (2) to help therefore the pilot of the specified aircraft (1) operate the specified aircraft (1) at the flight stage in the autorotation mode as a result of the specified failure. The aircraft (1) includes a hybrid power plant provided with the thermal engine (13), the electrical machine (12) and the main reduction gear (11), an electrical power accumulation device (14) and the lifting propeller (2) mechanically attached to the specified hybrid power plant (5), a device for rendering help to the pilot (10), a control device (15) of the electrical machine, which is provided with memory (16).

EFFECT: achieving a possibility of changing over to the flight stage in the autorotation mode and landing at operation of the lifting propeller in the above said mode.
