SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data processing and particularly to data recognition methods, including reading characters, images and patterns. A method for automated search for predetermined reference round seals is disclosed. The method includes a step of collecting a set of different predetermined images both containing round seals and not containing round seals. Further, the method includes training cascade classifiers on the collected sets of images and converting to a predetermined format all images of the reference seals given by a user. The method also includes detecting regions in the electronic file of the analysed object where a seal is likely to be found, and comparing the found regions with predetermined references.

EFFECT: faster detection of a predetermined reference round seal in any document.
