FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: one performs direct melt polymerisation of a diamine component containing at least 70 mol. % of para-xylylenediamine with dicarboxylic acid containing at least 70 mol. % of C6-C18 aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. Polymerisation is performed under a pressure of 0.2 - 0.5 MPa in the absence of a solvent in a batch reactor. The reactor is equipped with a stirring blade without a structural main part in the horizontal direction or a stirring blade having a structural main part in the horizontal direction where the main part does not contact the interface between the reaction mixture and the gas phase section in the course of stirring. In the course of reaction, temperature in the gas phase section of the reactor reaction reservoir is maintained to be at least 200°C. From the diamine component introduction commencement and to introduction termination as well as to pressure drop commencement, the contents of the reaction reservoir are stirred so that the Froude code characterising the stirring process is 0.0002 - 0.15.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase polyamide production performance and obtain high quality polyamide with low content of unmelted substance in the product.
