FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrically insulating materials. An article consists of a paper layer bonded to a layer of nonwoven fabric, wherein the paper and/or nonwoven fabric is electrically insulating. The paper contains about 10-30 wt % aramid fibres. The paper further contains non-aramid fibres selected from a group consisting of polyphenylene sulphide, polyester, polyamide, acrylic, melamine, glass and polyimide fibres. The nonwoven fabric contains about 20-70 wt % aramid fibres and about 30-80 wt % non-aramid fibres selected from a group consisting of polyphenylene sulphide, polyester, glycol-modified polyester, polyphenyl sulphone, polypropylene fibres and combinations thereof.
EFFECT: invention provides mechanical protection of electrical components.
