SUBSTANCE: rack units are completely filled with equipment (including cushions); all of the equipment in the rack is fitted with RFID tags; the rack is fitted with an RFID antenna; a plurality of RFID tags is periodically read. If a unit is vacated, the RFID tag of the equipment is not available for reading; the unit is considered vacant and requires filling with new equipment. The new equipment in that unit is identified from the read RFID tag.
EFFECT: high accuracy of positioning equipment in a telecommunication rack using RFID technology.
