FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tool (10) for the valve cotters (20) installation on the valve rod (4). The tool contains holder (30) with longitudinal axis (A), internal cavity (36) and end hole (34), core (40) located in cavity (36) of the holder (30), transportation channels (44) for valve cotters (20) movement to the valve rod. At end area (42) of the core (40) coaxially with the longitudinal axis (A) there is recess (70) elongated in the longitudinal direction to locate the top area of the valve rod (4), at that the recess (70) of the core (40) enters the end hole (34) and has depth (T), that is larger or at least equal to the distance (D) in axial direction between the end and ring slot of the valve rod. So, the core (40), in particular is end area (42), upon arrangement of the top area of the valve rod (4) at least partially overlaps at least one ring slot (16) such that the valve cotters (20) can be moved to the side surface of the valve rod (4) under at least one ring slot (16), and wrong entry in the slot can be reliably prevented.
EFFECT: low errors at the varying size of the valve or tool components are ensured.
