FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the production of thin-wall tube workpieces, assembly of the tube workpieces into a multilayered bundle, attachment of the bundle to end fittings by welding, corrugation of the bundle with the formation of bellows, testing of the bellows for strength and total tightness. Additionally, the method involves the tightness control operation of a space between layers of a multilayered corrugated cover, which consists in X-ray radiography of the bellows, exposure of the bellows at water pressure, quick initiating heating up to a temperature of at least 300°C, secondary X-ray radiography, comparison of two X-ray pictures for the absence or availability of additional delamination after heating.
EFFECT: improving the quality and reliability of the bellows.
