FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fusion welding of small-thickness parts with larger-thickness parts. Proposed method comprises interconnecting sections of laminar thin-wall corrugated shells by means of solid metal rings. Annular collars are made at ring inner cylindrical surfaces. Cylindrical end sections of sections to be connected are fitted into collar of two lateral sides against the stop. Joint is formed wherein ring lateral sides seat in end crimp recesses. Face surfaces of sections end parts are composed of cylindrical surfaces changing into taper surfaces. Taper surface is inclined. Then obtained joint is tied. Then, said joint is argon-arc welded in inert medium in two steps. End sections of said corrugated shells with reinforcements are jointed together by inner butt weld joint.
EFFECT: higher quality and reliability of joint weld.
