FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used to introduce a circular surgical suturing instrument with an elongated rod. The introducer comprises a hollow flexible tube with a distal end and an open proximal end. The hollow flexible tube has the size that makes it possible to enclose a suturing head and at least a portion of the elongated rod. A rigid cap assembly is attached to the distal end of the hollow flexible tube and configured to move between the closed position and open position selectively. In the closed position, the distal surface of the suturing head is closed. In the open position, the rigid cap assembly can be remote from the suturing head and elongated rod. A release mechanism interacts the rigid cap assembly so that a releasing force can move the above rigid cap assembly from the closed position into the above open position.
EFFECT: structural improvement.
