FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pipelines protection devices, mainly oil filling marine and rive terminals against high pressure waves (water hammers), generated during the pipeline operation in case of quick closing of gates in the pipeline of oil export terminals, and can be used during operation of the liquid systems, namely oil and oil product pipelines. The protection system of the oil export line against the water hammer contains jetty and onshore drain tanks, connected with export line, in its end cross-section a gate is installed, at that the jetty drain tank is made with capacity below the capacity of the onshore drain tank, at that each tank is made tight, has free connection with export line, and is partially filled with gas and transported liquid.

EFFECT: exclusion of the necessity in pumps use for back injection of the liquid from the drain tanks in the pipeline, exclusion of the drain tanks overfilling, elimination of time delay in the protection systems activation upon pressure rise in the pipeline.
