FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: mechanical impurities separator for fluid includes a cylindrical body with feed openings and connecting elements in the upper and lower parts, a separating unit installed in it with a drain tube for fluid discharge and a settling container plugged from the bottom and intended for collection of mechanical impurities. In the cylindrical body consisting of a head with tangential feed openings, collar and adapter the lower part of the head with insert placed inside the collar form hydrocyclone and inner cylindrical borings in the head lower part and taper holes inside the insert form at least two hydrocyclone chambers. The upper output ends of drain tubes in hydrocyclone chambers are placed above the tangential feed openings and isolated hydraulically from them by bushings and through the common cavity they are connected to the pump suction side, and each hydrocyclone chamber is made with the only tangential opening.
EFFECT: improving reliability and efficiency of transported fluids from mechanical impurities.
