FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by means of hydroacoustic radiating and receiving antennas connected T-like and arranged in the plane parallel to the plane coinciding with average level of water surface in a still state, radiation of acoustic pulses is performed by the radiating antenna with directivity pattern (DP), reception of echo signals from bottom surface of ice is performed by the receiving antenna shaping a static fan of receiving DPs by an electronic method, surveillance of a section of the bottom surface of ice within the surveillance sector is performed per the specified number of sounding cyclese by series rotation of DP axis of the radiating antenna in the plane of its maximum size relative to normal to the bottom surface of ice, for each position of DP axis of the radiating antenna in the surveillance band distances from the receiving antenna to the bottom surface of ice are measured, before the beginning of each sounding cycle there performed is measurement and correction of inclination angles of the radiating and receiving antennas in planes of their maximum sizes.
EFFECT: enlarging a surveillance sector of the bottom surface of ice at maintenance of dimensions of a resolution element as to space, within which assessment of buried part of ice is performed.
