FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: satellite radar images are obtained in the optical region. The images are analysed and interpreted. Boundaries of ice zones are determined interactively using a mosaic of images taken at different times. The age and concentration of ice is determined using ice cover tomographic imaging results. Ice thickness and morphologic anomalies of the underwater part of the ice body are determined using results of probing the ice body with linear frequency-modulated pulses.
EFFECT: high reliability of determined parameters.
