SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to an oral care composition and a method for using it. The presented aqueous oral care composition contains a polymer system consisting of xanthan gum, cellulose gum and a carbomer in certain amounts; and an orally acceptable aqueous carrier; the composition flow rate is less than 0.85. What is also presented is a method of treating or preventing such oral disease or condition, as xerostomia (dry mouth) involving contacting the oral surface of an individual in need thereof with the above composition.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions provides a polymer film deposition on the oral surface to relief dry mouth.
