FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for simultaneously displaying moon and earth phases, which is actuated by a clock mechanism, is in the form of, mounted at the same axis of a movable sphere of the Earth's model which rotates about said axis, a hemisphere of the Moon's model, which is immovably mounted on said axis on the bearing element of the clock mechanism, and a hemisphere of the non-illuminated part of the celestial body model, which in turn is configured to rotate about said axis with regular simultaneous display of corresponding moon and earth phases on the immovable hemisphere of the Moon and the movable sphere of the Earth, respectively.
EFFECT: enabling determination of the visibility of the Earth from the Moon at the present moment in time, enabling determination of the position of the Moon relative to the Earth and visibility of the Moon at any point on the Earth and enabling detection of short-term phenomena on the Moon, the abruptness and short time of existence of which make said phenomena hard to detect.
