FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: clock has a device for simultaneous display of moon and earth phases, which is actuated by a clock mechanism, which is in the form of a Moon/Earth sphere, immovably fixed on its axis which lies in a plane for dividing the Moon/Earth sphere into two models of celestial bodies, on the bearing element of the clock mechanism and a hemisphere, which in turn is configured to rotate about the mounting axis of the Moon/Earth sphere with regular simultaneous display of corresponding moon and earth phases on the Moon/Earth sphere.
EFFECT: design and implementation of an astronomical clock, which is configured to display the true map of the visible part of the moon's surface while simultaneously displaying moon phases visible from the Earth, and earth phases visible from the Moon, which particularly enables to determine the visibility of the Earth from the Moon at the present moment in time, and the topographic map of the visible side of the Moon on the clock enables to detect the so-called transient phenomena on the Moon anywhere, the suddenness and short duration of which make said phenomena hard to detect.
