SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to detection of underwater targets, particularly, to active physical protection of perimeters of objects in water areas against unauthorized intrusion to guarded object of moving underwater objects. Proposed method comprises transmission of electromagnetic signal in water, reception of reflected signal, processing of received signal to identify variations in received signal and generation of alarm signal in case underwater object is revealed in guarded area. Said electromagnetic signal represents a broadband electromagnetic signal with frequency band of 10-200 MHz excited in transmitting antenna by nanosecond duration generator.

EFFECT: higher efficiency protection of underwater objects.
