FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical devices for the metal objects detection, and can be used in safety systems, during food products production, during repairs and construction, during archaeological surveys. Essence of the invention is as follows: the metals detector contains a control box, receiving and exciting coils, current generation block of exciting coil, signal processing circuit. The periodic current pulse of the exciting coil contains areas with relatively low current increasing and decreasing, and areas of its permanent value. The signal processing circuit contains the signal amplitude-time analyser, processing block of signal harmonic components, low and high frequency filters, synchronous detectors, and determines distance to the object, its electromagnetic and geometrical parameters.

EFFECT: increased authenticity of the survey results.
