FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of homogeneous catalysis and deals with production of catalyst for metathesis dicyclopentadiene polymerisation. Ruthenium catalyst of dicyclopentadiene polymerisation represents [1,3-bis-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-2-imidazolidinylidene]chloro(2-((2-dimethylaminoethylmethylamino)methyl))benzylidene)ruthenium chloride in cationic form of formula (1) In catalyst structure used is principally novel substituent, providing novel quantities of catalyst, making it possible to realise controlled dicyclopentadiene polymerisation depending on specified temperature of polymerisation. Catalyst is obtained by interaction of triphenylphosphinic ruthenium complex with 1,1-diphenyl-2-propin-1-ol in tetrahydrofurane or dioxane at temperature of solvent boiling in inert atmosphere, and then with tricyclohexylphosphine at room temperature formed indenylidene ruthenium complex. The latter is successively subjected to interaction with 1,3-bis-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-2-trichloromethylimidazolidene and 2-vinylbenzylamine with formula (2) after which obtained compound is mixed in dichloromethane at room temperature in inert atmosphere, formed product is separated from reaction mixture and dried.

EFFECT: invention provides possibility to specify starting time and rate of polymerisation with high accuracy, high output of catalyst, activity and purity of catalyst and minimisation of side admixtures in the process of synthesis, extension of technological possibilities in polymerisation of dicyclopentadiene and obtaining product from polydicyclopentadiene with high consumer properties.
