SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport engineering. Proposed method comprises determination and display of data on actual diesel rpm and its variation by operator on the screen arranged in operator cabin. Additionally, data on current and hectare fuel consumption and on actual power consumption of this plant are determined and displayed. Data on optimum operating conditions, that is optimum rpm and optimum power output, are defined and displayed. Operator varies the engine operating conditions to maintain engine rpm and output at optimum level with due allowance for optimized hectare fuel consumption.

EFFECT: fuel saving, longer life.
