In the method of parameter control of a machine and tractor unit, information on the actual speed of the diesel engine and changes in the operating modes of the unit, as well as information on the current fuel consumption and fuel consumption per hectare and on the actual power consumption of the unit is determined and displayed on a screen installed in the cab. Power and rotational speed of the unit is maintained at an optimal level considering optimisation of the fuel consumption per hectare by the operator by means of changing the operating modes of the unit. Additionally, the slipping rate and the operating fuel consumption are determined at the engine load higher than 40% of the nominal value. Operational characteristics for the shift and the final characteristics are accumulated, personalized and archived in real time and displayed in digital and graphic form.
