FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: described is rigid isocyanate-based polymer foam with improved heat insulation properties, obtained from a reactive composition which contains a mixture of: (A) part A, containing (i) organic isocyanate, (B) part B, containing: (ii) an isocyanate-reactive component, (iii) a foaming agent, and (iv) one or more additional components selected from a catalyst, a nucleating agent, a surfactant, a chain cross-linker, a chain extender, a fire retardant, filler, a dye substance, a pigment, antistatic agent, reinforcing fibre, an antioxidant, a preservative, an infrared radiation blocker or acid absorbent, and (C) 3-7 parts of carbon black, containing (v) 50-100% by weight of fluorinated soot, having molar ratio of fluorine to carbon (F/C) of at least 10/90, where the parts by weight are based on the weight of component (B) of part B, and component (C) can either be completely in (A) part A or completely in (B) part B, or a certain part thereof can be in part A and the other in part B. Also described is a method of producing rigid isocyanate-based polymer foam with improved heat insulation properties, which includes the following steps: (I) forming: (A) part A, (B) part B and (C); (II) mixing (A) part A and (B) part B to form a reactive composition, where either only part A or only part B or both contain component (C); and (III) exposing the obtained reactive composition to conditions sufficient for curing said reactive composition to form rigid isocyanate-based polymer foam with improved heat insulation properties.
