SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of disinfection, namely to bactericidal irradiators of an open type, and can be used for the decontamination of air and contaminated surfaces in medical premises in the absence of people. A bactericidal irradiator contains a case with lampholders- cartridges, in which fixed are compact U-shaped or H-shaped gas-discharge mercury lamps with unilateral outlets, switched to a power and control unit with a start-regulating apparatus. The power and control unit of the bactericidal irradiator contains a network switching unit and the power and control unit, with a turn-on delay unit and a time master unit of the gas-discharge lamp operation being included between the network switching unit and the power unit start-control device. In addition, the power and control unit is provided with a sensor of the gas-discharge lamp operation control and a gas-discharge lamp hour run meter.

EFFECT: invention provides the increased reliability and safety of the bactericidal irradiator operation.
